Overview
This premium digital bottle scale is used to weigh the open bottles and to transmit this weight to the Sculpture Application on both Android & iOS Devices. The bottle scales MUST have a minimum weight capacity of 6000 grams or 6 KG with an accuracy of no less than 1 gram. The scale can be more accurate so it weight tenths of a gram but must at least weigh in single gram units.
Important Note:
This scale requires the additional purchase of a Bluetooth Adapter to to connect to mobile device

A&D Bluetooth Adapter
These adapters are built by A&D, but distributed via 3rd party. The link provided is an example, you should investigate your local resources/vendors.
A&D EJ-27 (~$90 USD)
Irxon Bluetooth Adapter
This is a direct replacement of the Legacy Inteletto Adapter. This adapter requires and additional purchase of a serial adapter to plug into the device if you do not currently have one installed.

Device Configurations
EJ6100 Series Scale
Initial Setup
To set up an A&D EJ6100 series scale, you need to: place it on a level surface, power it on, check the display for initial settings, and then calibrate it using a known weight, accessing the calibration mode through the function keys on the scale depending on the specific model; consult your user manual for precise instructions on accessing calibration mode and weight values required for your specific EJ6100 scale.
Key steps:
- Placement:
- Ensure the scale is placed on a flat, stable surface.
- Power on:
- Turn on the scale by pressing the power button.
- Initial Display check:
- Verify the display shows the correct units (grams, ounces, etc.).
- Calibration:
- Access Calibration Mode: Press and hold the designated function key (usually labeled “CAL” or “MODE”) to enter calibration mode.
- Place Calibration Weight: Place a known weight on the platform that matches the desired calibration point (usually the full capacity of the scale).
- Confirm Calibration: Press the appropriate key to confirm the calibration and exit the mode.
- Important Points:
- Consult the user manual: Always refer to your specific EJ6100 scale’s user manual for precise instructions on calibration procedures, function key usage, and any additional settings needed.
- Battery check: Ensure the scale is properly powered with fresh batteries if necessary.
- Leveling: If needed, adjust the leveling feet on the scale to ensure a stable platform.
Scale Configuration
The A&D scale needs to be programmed to work with the various adapters. The configuration below is the standard set up. If an adapters instructions have a different configuration, use that instead.
If connection is successful, you should see both green (data transmission) and blue (Bluetooth connection) lights solidly lit (not flashing).
- Except for the settings noted below, keep all factory settings.
- Prt – Data Output Mode set to 0
- Hold the “Sample” key until you see “Func” on screen.
- Press “Print” to engage the “function” mode.
- Press “Sample” multiple times until you see Prt.
- Press “RE-ZERO” (red button) and change it to 0.
- Press “Print” to accept the change.
- Turn the scale off and back on and wait for 0gs to display.
- Prt – Data Output Mode set to 0

- bPS – Baud rate set to 2
- Hold the “Sample” key until you see “Func” on screen.
- Press “Print” to engage the “function” mode.
- Press “Sample” multiple times until you see bPS.
- Press “RE-ZERO” (red button) and change it to 2.
- Press “Print” to accept the change.
- Turn the scale off and back on and wait for 0gs to display.
- bPS – Baud rate set to 2

- btPr – Data and parity set to 2
- Hold the “Sample” key until you see “Func” on screen.
- Press “Print” to engage the “function” mode.
- Press “Sample” multiple times until you see btPr.
- Press “RE-ZERO” (red button) and change it to 2.
- Press “Print” to accept the change.
- Turn the scale off and back on and wait for 0gs to display.
- btPr – Data and parity set to 2
Untethered BLE Adapter
This adapter does not require additional hardware, it plugs directly into the A&D EJ6100 series scale.

Tips/Tricks
The DIP switch should be configured to case 3: both switches set to off.
You may also get a version without the DIP switch, in which case there is nothing to set.
FAQ
- The first time you connect the app with the scale via EJ-27, you may be prompted once or twice to pair and connect. Confirm to pair each time.
- If the scale has been previously paired with another device, first turn off the other device or unpair the scale; otherwise the scale will not pair and connect with the current device.
- Try turning off the scale, and turning it back on to try again, if you have trouble connecting.
Irxon BT578v3
The Irxon adapter enables the Sculpture app to connect with an A&D scale with a serial interface (EJ-03) wirelessly over Bluetooth.
The Irxon adapter may be found at various online vendors, such as AliExpress, Amazon and EBay. Shop various preferred vendors and pricing, as the price spread may vary significantly. As of January 2025, we were able to find ones under $30 USD.
Tips/Tricks
The Male/Female Slider Switch should be set to Male.
Be careful when you attach the adapter to the A&D scale’s serial interface. Double-check the connector ends are properly aligned to avoid damaging the pins.
