Overview
Price Levels are used to separate out the Drink Mix Screen into multiple sheets view a drop-down which will appear at the top of your screen. Each of these screens can host its own Drink Mixes at different prices.
A price level can be given a “Type”. The type identifies where the sales quantity and revenue will be included in the Bevinco reports.
Setup
Step 1: Navigate to Sales & Drink Mix Tab
Step 2: Select Price Level Setup
Step 3: In the Empty space under “Price Level”, input the new name of your price level.
Step 4: Choose the Type of Price level.
Step 5: Select “Add”
Type
The Price Level “type” is a simple grouping mechanism for the documented sale, comp, spill, or other of a drink mix or inventory item.
Regular: Standard Drink Mix / Normal Sale. The Sold Quantity will be included in Sold Column in reports
Comp: A documented/tracked drink that was provided, poured, or made for a customer for free. No money is collected for a comp. By default, Regular sales include documented Comps to offset missing. The quantity of total Comps is provided in the “comps” column in the Bevinco Reports.
Spill: A documented drink that is made incorrectly, broken, lost, or other. No money is collected for a spill as it is a documented loss of an inventory item, not allowing for the revenue gain. By Default, Regular Sales includes documented Spills to offset missing. The quantity of total Spills is provided in the “spills” column in the Bevinco Reports.
Other: Other is the same as a COMP or SPILL, but groups the quantity into the “Other” column in the reports. By Default, Regular Sales includes documented Spills to offset missing.
Including & Excluding
When customizing a Report a user has the ability to make certain changes in the way each report is displayed. Outside of editing columns, a user can choose to include spills, comps, wastes, and other miscellaneous information within their Sales (SOLD) column. See your options other than column adjustments below.
Unchecking any of these boxes will remove the specific sales component from the report a user will generate. This will be specific to the report you are customizing, not all reports.
Sales of Comps, Spills, and Other are included by default. Excluding sales will inflate the calculated Unit Revenue resulting in a Bevinco Rating drop.
A user would only exclude Spills, Comps, and/or other waste if the POS combined these figures into the single SOLD quantity. See below for a more detailed explanation of the calculations.
Calculation
The Calculations for the TYPE Columns follow the same formula as the standard sales columns, with the exception that the TYPE quantity is used instead of sold.
- TYPE (quantity) : Derived from Price Level Sheet total Quantity “sold” by type of item / ingredient
- % TYPE : Used(qty) ÷ TYPE (quantity)
- TYPE (cost) : On-hand(unit cost) x TYPE (quantity)
- TYPE (retail) : Unit Revenue (x) TYPE (quantity)
The example above INCLUDES the TYPE within the Sales (see including / excluding above)
What happens if you decide to EXCLUDE (uncheck “include”) the TYPE that was identified? Below is a side-by-side comparison of the simple report.
In the example below, Bud Light has 3 used bottles, with a single Spilled bottle. The two side-by-side comparisons are what happens when that a user includes or excludes the Spill (type) from sales.
- When Sales exclude Spills (type), Missing will now display a quantity of unaccounted for inventory.
- The Unit Revenue Value will INCREASE, as the Sold Amount Decreases. ($10.00 / 3) vs. ($10.00 / 2) – which will result in a drop in your Bevinco Rating and more.
- The Type (Retail) Value will INCREASE as the Unit Revenue Value has increased.
Unit Revenue as it is applied to a TYPE Retail is derived by the following formula:
Removing Price Levels
If needed, a user can also Delete / Remove a Price Level.
To do so, a user would navigate to Price Level Setup and select the red “Delete” button next to it.
This will bring up a Warning Box:
Note:
This will permanently Delete the Price Level from your database
